Celebrating the Power and Joy of language

Language Week at Edgefield is a vibrant celebration of the English language, brought to life through a dynamic range of activities—from captivating storytelling sessions and spirited debates to creative writing and collaborative projects.

Designed to spark curiosity and joy, these experiences allow students to engage meaningfully with real-world issues, work together in teams, and explore the power of language to inspire, influence, and connect.

More than just a series of events, Language Week cultivates a deep appreciation for the richness and versatility of English. It equips students with essential communication skills, broadens their cultural perspectives, and nurtures a lifelong love for learning through language.

Read for Books 2026

Our students proudly took part in Read for Books 2026, supporting the National Library Board's reading-for-charity initiative. Over three silent reading sessions in the school hall, they spent 15 minutes reading each session, helping to contribute towards book donations for beneficiaries while fostering a love for reading and giving back to the community. Together, they showed that every page turned can make a difference.
